Virtual Instruments
Systems & Products > Optical Fiber Systems
By virtual instruments we mean instruments that do not contain logic and display functions (for cost reduction) and need a PC to become operative. Screen and keyboard of the PC are the man/machine interface. TESEO is specialized in the virtual instruments that connect to the serial port of the PC by means of fiber optic links. Different types of instruments can be tied together in daisy chain on just one port of the PC via a proprietary protocol and a high level software program that displays each instrument as one page on the PC screen.
The current production instruments are:
- SOPM It is a 3-channel RF power meter with frequency response flat up to 1 GHz.An example of usage is the bulk current injection test that often requires the measurement of forward power, reverse power and injected current
- SOPM03 It is a 3-channel RF power meter with frequency response flat up to 3 GHz.
- SOVM It is an 8-channel DC volmeter with an application software package that allows monitoring eight EUT parameters that are supposed to be slowly varying with time, threshold setting and visual indication of threshold exceedance. It is very usefull during a susceptibility test to check the status of the EUT after application of the field. When coupled with the program that handles the test it performs automatically the recognition of the anomalies. A variant of SOVM is able to monitor up to 96 discretes (On/Off) signals.
- SOAC It is an acquisition and control unit whose main purpose is to control the amplifiers by automatically switching bands, and in general acts a chamber control unit. Some available outputs are used for generating alarms, disabling amplifiers…while the available inputs acquire signals related to safety like the opening of the chamber door.Optionally t he serial connection to the PC maybe optical.
