Many TESEO customers belong to the automotive community. Whether it is a small control unit or a full vehicle, field in excess of 200 V/m (much higher if tests are run in a reverberating chamber) are adopted that require the use of fiber optic links and well shielded satellites.
Most of the general purpose fiber optic based test equipment above are of general usage in automotive testing.. Some are of exclusive use like OSM04 and OSM05 command channels that are devised to turn the key, start the engine and accelerate a car with no driver intervention as required in the anechoic chamber. The ISO9141 bus is also exclusive as no applications other than automotive are known. CAN and VAN buses are not restricted to the vehicle installations but the automotive applications are today predominant. The has been designed in compliance with a specification issued by a car maker as indicated by the ranges (they make you think immediately of a vehicle battery supply) and are particularly well suited to monitor automotive electronics. Also OTM01 channels are employed very often in bulk current tests that are common in homologation of automotive components.
A test equipment that is absolutely exclusive is the PWS02: it generates and transmits over the fibers sinewaves that simulate through magnetic coupling units the speed of the wheels as seen by the pick-up sensors. By so doing speed profiles are generated independently on each wheel to test in the presence of an electric field an antiskid unit, ABS, for radiated immunity.
